Consumer Protection (Cancellation of Contracts 
Concluded Away from Business Premises) Regulations 1998

On [date] one of your salesmen came into my house and 
asked me to buy [item].  I had not asked him to call; 
his visit was entirely unsolicited.  
Although I was concerned about signing any documentation, 
I decided that the only way I could get rid of him was by 
signing a contract for [item].  Under the terms of the 
contract I paid a deposit of [£     ].  
I have now decided that I do not want the [item].

I understand that the Consumer Protection (Cancellation 
of Contracts Concluded Away from Business Premises) 
(Amended) Regulations 1998 provide for a seven-day 
cooling-off period, during which consumers have the right 
to cancel contracts made during an unsolicited visit.  
I am hereby giving notice that I wish to exercise my 
rights under the Regulations and cancel my contract with 
you.

I look forward to having my deposit returned within 
seven days
